This year I have noticed that my adult students have developed a whole bunch of reasons for learning English. Some are doing exams and want lots of explicit exam practice. Others want to improve their prospects for employment and some just like the social aspect of coming to class. Imagine these different needs and expectations in one group! So I have found myself researching strategies that are used by innovative businesses like Google. I bought a book called Gamestorming which has been great. It looks at how to use brainstorming in fun ways. There are loads of ideas that can be easily adapted for your lessons. You don’t need to buy the book. Bangkitnya Difteri dari 'Kubur'

Grup WhatsApp beranggotakan segelintir ibu-ibu muda itu mendadak riuh. Penyebabnya, foto-foto balita dengan langit mulut berwarna putih memenuhi layar ponsel mereka. Si balita disebut terkena difteri. Penyakit yang bagi sebagian besar masyarakat Indonesia terdengar masih asing. Kini difteri dinyatakan sebagai Kejadian Luar Biasa (KLB). Para ibu-ibu muda cemas bukan kepalang. Pasalnya, difteri tercatat sebagai penyakit menular dan mematikan. "Ngeri ya bun, saya jadi takut," kata salah seorang ibu menanggapi broadcast message yang beredar di grup-grup WhatsApp. Hingga 6 Desember 2017,  Kementerian Kesehatan mencatat ada 20 provinsi yang melaporkan kasus difteri. Namun, dari 20 provinsi itu bukan satu provinsi semuanya terkena difteri, tapi ada beberapa kabupaten/kota yang melaporkan KLB.
